Today I was blessed with the opportunity to interact with about a hundred different students at RA Padayachee. The teachers worked schedules out so that three different classes during the school day could come to the field with me and play soccer. There was also a fairly sized group of kids that came to play after school as well. It’s very encouraging to see how excited the kids are to participate in the sport activities and how they have so much fun with just simple drills and exercises. Before we started playing soccer games, I did some running and stretching drills with each class, and it was really cool how excited they were just to do something simple like that.

I am going into the school early on Monday again, and I am hoping that within the next week this ministry can begin to dive a little deeper into these kids’ lives. Things haven’t been very personal yet with the kids, especially since we are still getting acquainted with each other. Next week though I plan on doing sit down sessions with the groups to talk in order to get to know the kids a little better. I would also like to begin possibly reading stories from the Bible and discussing these as well. The kids have been receptive to things so far, so I’m excited about where this ministry may progress in the coming week.
